christmas at the arboretum

We’re still waiting on getting Christmas decoration pictures. See here for that story.

So, in the meantime, I’ll catch you up on further details from our Thanksgiving weekend.

The day after Thanksgiving, we decided to get an early start on Christmas celebrations by going to the Arboretum with everyone.

Red Maple Rill

They still had some of the Autumn at the Arboretum exhibits up so we enjoyed getting to show those off to our family. Our cousin, Ally, and I had fun exploring the different pumpkin houses and seeing all the different kinds of pumpkins they had.

Pumpkin House

Seriously, every time it amazes me. I’m already making a list for fun pumpkins that I want to get next year.

White Rock Lake

It was an absolutely beautiful day – a little chilly, but the sun was shining and bright.

When we walked around the lake, we found papyrus growing. Cool, huh?

Because it was Christmas, we got to go into the DeGolyer Mansion on the grounds of the Arboretum. Every year they decorate the house with thousands of angels and Christmas decorations.

Each of the trees were decorated with a different color scheme or theme.

See the angels all over the trees?

It was a really fun way to kick off the Christmas holidays. What have you been up to?
