fall at the arboretum

One of our favorite things to do in the fall is go to the Arboretum. Each fall they decorate the whole place with thousands and thousands of pumpkins including a Pumpkin Village, created out of pumpkins and gourds. It’s absolutely fantastic. We went for the first time last year and knew that we definitely wanted to go again this fall.

I seriously wanted to duplicate this at our house.

The displays were simply amazing.

I mean, who comes up something this creative?Pumpkin House

Like making garlands out of mini pumpkins.

We had so much fun enjoying the beautiful weather and walking around the gardens as well. It makes me think of Jane Austen (“the garden at Rosings” anyone?) or of a palace like Versailles. It makes me think of the days of carefully sculpted lawns and gardens. And how I need to hire someone to do this for my own yard!

Tell me you don’t want someone to plant flowers for you every season?

And build you a lake? Yes please!

The northerner in me was thrilled to see some leaves changing.

And to take a walk in the woods.

Can’t wait to take our family to see their Holiday at the Arboretum exhibit!

  1. wow. that is amazing. pumpkin awesome-land. that’s what it should be called. i want to go to there. also, you guys look super cute in that first pic. well rachel does. i’m not commenting on rob. andrew thinks “cute” is a word for small children and fluffy things and definitely not men. he prefers i say “endearing” instead. so that first pic is super cute of you and i guess endearing of rob.

    • Isn’t it so fun!? We absolutely love it. Although both years we’ve managed to go on Trick or Treat weekend which is a little crazy, lol. Although the kids running around in their costumes are adorable. Until they hit you with their pirate swords.
